camera.jpgChardaé Yanique Davis lives by this idea: Put on your stilettos and get to work! This motto serves her well in her personal and professional life as a multimedia journalist.

She currently works as a Morning News Associate Producer at WTVJ-NBC 6 in Miami.

Before working the overnight shift at WTVJ, Chardaé honed her reporting and writing skills at 6News in Lawrence, Kan. where she worked at a General Assignment Reporter while still in college. Besides reporting for 6News, Chardaé also wrote for the local paper, the Lawrence Journal-World, and the paper's Web site, World Online.  

She put on her stilettos and got to work as a Student Fashion Correspondent for Palestra.net: The College Network in September 2007. As a Backpack journalist, Chardaé created video content focusing on college trends for the Web site.

As a scholar of the Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media, Chardaé was selected to intern at WTVJ-NBC 6 every summer until she graduated from college. Each summer she worked in a different department, including Research, News, and Marketing. While at WTVJ, Chardaé worked for the Web site, assignment desk, reported for the intern newscast and served as News Director for an experimental version of the intern newscast in 2008.

Chardaé is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, where she double majored in Journalism and International Studies. 

Her favorite book is White Teeth by Zadie Smith. Chardaé has a passion for learning about Caribbean history, sociology, health, and economics.
